The camp

Think in Three Dimensions. Build with Purpose.

MakeCraft harnesses the creative freedom of Minecraft to teach 3D visualisation and redstone circuitry. Campers move from building simple structures to engineering complex architectural feats.

The second half of the day is devoted to exploring the physics of redstone, Minecraft’s most mysterious element. Using redstone, we build logic gates, roller-coasters, flying machines and much more.

By 3:30pm, we will have…

  • Learned how to plan builds in three dimensions.
  • Learned to read technical 3D drafts.
  • Built 15+ different structures.
  • Learned how redstone logic works — gates, switches and circuits
  • Built a working contraption, like a roller-coaster or flying machine
  • Demoed our builds at the parent showcase

Before you book

Frequently asked.

Does my child need any experience?

None at all. Total beginners and seasoned builders both thrive — an instructor meets every camper exactly where they are.

Do they need their own laptop?

No — we provide everything, from the laptops to Minecraft and all the gear. They just bring themselves.

What should they bring?

Just lunch, snacks and a water bottle. We handle the rest, and there are breaks built into the day.

How big are the groups?

Small and personal — we cap it at a 1:12 instructor-to-camper ratio so no one gets left behind.

Can I come to the showcase?

Please do! The last half-hour is a parent showcase where campers demo what they built that day.

What if they’ve never played Minecraft on a computer?

Perfectly fine. However, they might not get as far as other students as they will spend some time getting used to the controls.

What if they are Minecraft pros?

We have yet to meet a camper we could not push to a new limit - bring it on!

New camp dates

Hear about new camp dates first

We email Cape Town and Joburg parents when new camps open, usually before the seats go public. Places are limited and dates fill.
